Alpha Nu Epsilon advisor, All-Connecticut Academic Team coordinator, and Northwestern Connecticut Community College professor of biology Sharon Gusky has been selected as one of six 2008 Mosal Award Recipients. Established in 1984, the Mosal Award Program encourages personal professional development by providing financial support to Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisors for the completion of a project that leads to personal professional growth.
Gusky’s winning project proposal, entitled “More Than Just Kangaroos: Experiencing Australia’s Biodiversity,” will allow her to travel to Australia to serve on an Earthwatch research team during Australia’s Forrest Marsupials Expedition. From her work, she will study marsupial mammals and develop curriculum for classroom lectures and exercises. Once she returns, Gusky will share her work with her colleagues and Northwestern Connecticut Community College students through a series of presentations.
Many congratulations to Sharon, the Alpha Nu Epsilon chapter, and Northwestern Connecticut Community College for this outstanding honor!
